Chunauti is an action-packed romantic comedy that tells a story of love, struggle, and justice. Ajaya and his wife Prabha move to Kathmandu, where Ajaya starts working as a teacher. Later, his sister Gita joins them and enrolls in the same college. There, she meets a kind and charming student, but trouble arises when Madhav, a troublesome student, also starts liking her. One day, a fight breaks out in the college, and when Gita tries to stop it, an inspector arrives and brings the situation under control. Angered by this, Madhav and his group cause harm to Prabha and Gita. They also try to escape punishment through legal means. With no strong evidence, Ajaya takes a stand and challenges the court. In the end, he decides to take justice into his own hands, leading to a tragic ending where the inspector, fulfilling his duty, stops Ajaya. Chunauti is a story of love, courage, and sacrifice in the face of injustice.

Released a few months after the Italian The Passion According to St. Mathew, this Austrian film is, like the earlier effort, based on a theatre piece. But whereas the Italian picture was inspired by Bach's oratorio, St. Mathew's Passion is a filmed record of a newly commissioned State Burgtheatre production. Actor Raoul Aslan movingly recites the biblical story of the last days of Christ, while the Philharmonic Orchestra of Vienna underscores his words. Director Ernst Marischka breaks up the visual monotony of the proceeding by utilizing a montage of photographs and paintings of the Middle Eastern regions where the original story took place. Reviewers felt that St. Mathew's Passion should have been promoted as a documentary rather than a dramatic feature.

Maassen won two of the biggest comedy contests in the Netherlands in 1990, the Groninger Studenten Cabaret Festival(GSCF), and Cameretten. The GSCF jury was not pleased with the quality of the contestants that year, and gave Maassen the first prize, remarking he was the best of the year, but still not very good. In the following years, however, Maassen fame grew steadily, especially amongst students. Maassens style was based on stand-up comedy: Alone on stage, telling jokes and stories to amuse the public, without any musical support (a thing common for most Dutch comedians up to that point).

LIVE; THEATERSEIZOEN '82/'84: 'Urbanus Live' werd in opdracht van Urbanus Nederland opgenomen tijdens twee uitverkochte voorstellingen in de Agnietenhof van Tiel op 4 en 5 februari 1983. Deze opnamen werden samengevat voor televisie en uitgezonden door de Vara in 1983 en in 1984. Dit is de volledige, ongeknipte versie van deze twee succesvolle uitzendingen via Vara en tevens een aardige weergave van het theaterseizoen 1982-1983 in Nederland en 1983-1984 in België. IN 'T ECHT: Deze theatershow van Urbanus was een ware triomf in de Belgische- en Nederlandse theaters, waarbij records sneuvelden wat bezoekersaantallen betreft. In Nederland werden ruim 200 voorstellingen gegeven, waarvan drie shows in Carré in Amsterdam. Geen enkele buitenlandse artiest deed hem dit na. In Vlaanderen was het niet anders. In alle grote theaters vonden meer dan twee voorstellingen plaats en Antwerpen leverde een record op van meer dan 15.000 bezoekers.

The musical alludes to local, then topical issues. This musical was on the occasion of the seven hundredth anniversary of the city of Amsterdam, and loosely based on 'Gijsbrecht van Aemstel', the 17th-century history play by Joost van den Vondel.
