He pursues this research, and keeps a plant wired up in his lab. When a woman who lives in his building is mysteriously murdered in his lab, the plant is the only witness to the crime.

However, he quickly finds out that not only is the restaurant poorly located – it’s in the middle of the cemetery, far away from downtown and residential areas – but none of the other staff, such as former hairdresser Kawai, have ever worked at a French restaurant.

The figures remain a quintessential part of the 1990s boom in craze toys, spaning several animated adaptations and video games based on the figures. The word sylvan means 'of the forest'.
