Violette lives in an apartment with her boyfriend. A tension has long driven them apart, the dialogue seems worn-out. While she is in the bathroom brushing her teeth, Violette is called out by a strange silhouette which looks right at her through the drain (of the sink): a living finger, which has taken up residence in the pipes. The finger seems to show itself only when Violette is alone. Her boyfriend, who seems now to hold nothing more than contempt for her, is no source of support. Refusing to tolerate the strange creature's intrusion, she is going to make every effort to put an end to this psychosis. But are things more real than we might think?

In the Box(sk)

A character is inside a cubical room; there is a hole in the roof, which is too high to reach. But pushing on the walls distorts the room in various ways, always appearing to bring the hole closer while still leaving it tantalizingly inaccessible.

The Kite(sk)

"The Kite" is a short puppet animated film for kids. It talks about the issue of death, but in a simple metaphoric and symbolic way. It tries to explain the fact that none of us are here forever and all living creatures must die, but on the other hand, to show, that someone's journey doesn't have to end with death.

Locked out of the school art room, a creative non-binary teen named Frog grapples with anxiety as they seek a new place to eat lunch. Imagination blurs with reality in this hybrid work of live action and animation about finding a place to belong.

The Limited Bird(en)

John's first independent work from 1989. Won Best of Fest Shorts at the Cinequest Film Festival, CA. The film is comprised of highly rendered drawings with very little moving parts to tell a complex story of relationships "gone to the birds".

Then suddenly something flies into the workshop and strange things start happening. Stop-motion animation is combined with live action to create a terrifying experience from flesh, blood, wood and feathers.

Merenguito, a little piñata boy, wakes up on a school table after being put together by a group of primary school children. Soon they discover his gift: dispensing candy at will. When the children become absorbed by their greed for candy, Merenguito finds comfort in his friendship with Bruno, a gentle child outcast from his peers due to his delicate health condition. Chaos soon erupts and Merenguito becomes a victim of merciless bullying that spirals him into a choice with terrible consequences.
