Meiko Nakahara (born May 8, 1959) is a Japanese singer and songwriter from Yotsukaido, Chiba. Her real name is Akiko Obara. Active mainly in the 1980s, she is known for the hit song "Kimitachi Kiwi Papaya Mango da ne" and also composed for other artists, including Yū Hayami. Her energetic performances at university festivals earned her the title of "Queen of University Festivals." Signed to Toshiba EMI and managed by Yui Ongaku Kobo, Nakahara was marketed as the "second Yuming," a label she rejected in favor of her unique style. Her stage name combines her surname with that of actress Reiko Ohara.
