    Cecil George is a stenographer to the wealthy Mr. Jeffries but struggling to get by on her meager salary. Eventually Jeffries realizes how much he relies on Cecil and that he loves her. They marry and he entrusts the running of his business to his secretary while they honeymoon. Unfortunately, the secretary speculates for his own benefit and drives Jeffries’s company to ruin. When he suffers a nervous collapse Cecil must take drastic measures to save him.
