On the world renowned Museum Square in the heart of the city André Rieu and his Johann Strauss Orchestra entertained the audience for almost 100 minutes making the city waltz and swirl. To celebrate the 30th anniversary of Rock Records in Taiwan, the music label put together an unprecedented concert in the history of Taiwan music, supported by more than 60 performing units. The show toured through Asia and many cities in the Mainland, and finally drew its curtains in Taipei Arena in November 2011. The massive lineup posed an array of challenges in terms of scheduling, lightning, sound and stage design for the crew, but in the end everything came together and resulted in a grand five-hour spectacle. Some of the artists who appeared in the finale include Wu Bai and China Blue, Mayday, Emil Chau, Alex To, Karen Mok, Fish Leong, A-Yue Chang, Rene Liu, Winnie Hsin and Richie Jen who brought to fans classic ballads like "Moment of Awakening," "Don't Leave Me If You Love Me," "Soft-Hearted," "A Tearful Decision," "Happy Paradise" and more.

The Graham Vicks production of FALSTAFF opened the new Covent Garden Royal Opera House, and was not to everybody's taste; the garish primary colours of the costumes. The staging is effective--the complicated counterpoint of the ensembles is reflected in unobtrusive blocking that keeps the vocal lines clear and separate, especially in the final fugue. Bryn Terfel's Falstaff is a memorable creation, self-mocking and self-aggrandising at the same time--so much so, in fact, that he almost does not need the vast prosthetic body he has to wear for the part. Desiree Rancatore is an admirably sweet-toned Nanetta; Bernadette Manca di Nissa an appropriately sardonic Mistress Quickly; Roberto Frontali as Ford, in his Act 2 scena, perfectly distils and parodies every jealousy aria ever written, including Verdi's own. Haitink's conducting is exemplary in the lyrical passages, gets almost everything out of the fast and furious comic sections.

The first part of this Academy Award-winning short consists of a behind-the-scenes look at the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra as it prepares to perform Ravel's "Bolero." Individual musicians offer their thoughts as workers set up chairs and music stands; there are also comments by conductor Zubin Mehta and scenes of Mehta and the orchestra rehearsing. The rest of the film features a complete performance of "Bolero" with striking images of the orchestra as the music relentlessly approaches its climax.

The concert was recorded on February 26, 1995, at the “Houston Astrodome” and was televised live on Univision. The singer shared the concert with Tejano singer “Emilio Navaira” and performed to 66,994 people, which broke the previous attendance record held by Selena in the previous year. Selena's performance at the Astrodome became her final televised concert before she was shot and killed on March 31, 1995. The set list mostly included material from her "Amor Prohibido" (1994) album and a medley mashup of disco music songs.
