Drowned World Tour 2001 was recorded at The Palace of Auburn Hills in Auburn Hills, Michigan on August 26, 2001 and was originally broadcast live on HBO as Madonna Live! Drowned World Tour 2001. Drowned World Tour was the fifth concert tour by Madonna in support of her seventh and eighth studio albums Ray of Light and Music, respectively.

"Re-Invention World Tour" was the sixth concert tour by Madonna. It supported her ninth studio album "American Life". The final show in Lisbon was expected to air on CBS, who had allegedly offered to pay $10 million to broadcast it as a two-hour special, and after it would be released on DVD as "Get Up Lisboa! - The Re-Invention World Tour", but did not happen. In early 2010, the tour's professional recording was completely leaked on the internet.

They had 3 hit singles and a UK top 10 album already under their belts along with a string of headlining concerts, all of which had come since their relocation from New York to London in 1980. The band's combination of original songs and rockabilly classics with a punk attitude and style had caught the moment to perfection. Added to this were their considerable musical accomplishments and knack for songwriting. All in all it was a heady concoction and the crowd in Montreux reacted with near hysterical excitement, something rarely seen in what is usually a polite and reserved audience.
