NJPW crowned its inaugural IWGP United States Heavyweight Champion as the semifinals and finals of the IWGP United States Heavyweight Champion tournament culminate. Also, Billy Gunn faced Hiroshi Tanahashi for the IWGP Intercontinental Championship. The event's name refers to the annual G1 Climax tournament as these shows also served as a prelude to the 2017 G1 Climax.

Enraged, Govinda rushes to kill Dhaneshwar, but ends up killing someone else instead, and is arrested and put in jail. With Dharam dead and Govinda behind bars, Dhaneshwar seizes the opportunity and this time does molest Pavitra. Who will avenge Pavitra and Dharam now?
