Meng Waner was originally the daughter of the Emperor of Heaven. She fell in love with Shi Tu, one of the ten ancient generals, and was demoted to the human world. However, she still wanted to be with Shi Tu, and finally gave up her obsession and became Po Meng. Meng Waner went from simply pursuing her own love to finally making Meng Po soup for all sentient beings at Naihe Bridge to relieve the suffering of all sentient beings. She experienced a huge transformation from the small self to the big self, which made her let go of her own knot and was willing to sacrifice herself for others. In this documentary we meet five children in Sweden and see what happened in their lives. Robin was nine years old, but he already knew what a prison looked like and the bad a punishment can do. Frida was not yet born when we filmed her mother Angela in 1983. Her sister Malin lived for several years in a foster family. Bosse was 14 years old and in 9th grade when we met him in 1978. He was the only guy in the class who had glasses. Marie received many postcards and letters from her father, but very rarely met him while she was growing up.
