Degrassi High (en)
Degrassi High is the third television show in the Degrassi series of teen dramas about the lives of a group of teenagers living on or near De Grassi Street in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It first aired from 1989 to 1991 and followed the young people from The Kids of Degrassi Street and Degrassi Junior High through high school. The show was filmed in downtown Toronto and at Centennial College. Much like its predecessor, Degrassi High dealt with controversial issues ranging from AIDS, abortion, abuse, alcoholism, cheating, sex, death and suicide, dating, depression, bullying, gay rights, homophobia, racism, the environment, drugs, and eating disorders. The show's impact on Canadian identity is discussed in the September 2007 issue of u're Magazine.

It started airing in India with the Swayamvar Season 1 in 2009 and followed that with Swayamvar Season 2. In February 2011, Imagine TV announced the launch of the Swayamvar Season 3. The Swayamvar Season 3 started airing on Imagine TV from May 30, 2011. The winner of Ratan Ka Rishta will get the bride/groom of the season's hand in marriage. The new series sees a new host and a new location for the show. The new host is television actor, Hiten Tejwani, while the new location for the TV show is Shiv Vilas Palace in Jaipur.

The show began in May 2010 with Davina McCall having presented the show's eleven series to date. The show uses social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter to find contestants, and also to promote the show. David Flynn, managing director of Endemol's Remarkable Television, which produced the show, said: "The plan was to create buzz and an air of mystery around the show by trickling information about auditions via Twitter and Facebook, giving fans a level of exclusivity."

Cowboys is a British sitcom that aired on the ITV network during the early 1980s. The show was created by Peter Learmouth whom would go on to create Granada television sitcom Surgical Spirit and starred Lancastrian Character-actor Roy Kinnear as Joe Jones "whose small building firm hardly seems to do anything right at all" with co-stars David Kelly as 'Wobbly' Ron, "Oscar-Winning Writer" Colin Welland as Geyser and James Wardroper with Debbie Linden and Janine Duvitski. The show is based on the British colloquial use of "cowboy" to describe a workman of doubtful professionalism e.g. a "cowboy builder".

Hagane no Onna (ja)
Haga Ineko stopped being a school teacher for she was about to get married. When she is suddenly dumped by her to-be husband, she loses her way, and starts drinking. One day, an old friend approaches with a job offer. She would be a substitute teacher in a class on which several teachers gave up without an apparent reason. She reluctantly takes the job only to discover that there are several brutal bullying cases inside the class. Even she eventually starts being anonymously threatened due to her opposing posture against such cases. She now has to identify and reprimand them while at the same time protecting weaker students. The word "Hagane" on the title is a nickname which comes from Haga (her surname) and Ne (from Ineko, her name), but is actually a pun with the actual word hagane (which means steel, denoting how she must be in order to resist as a teacher).
