The film is not only a nod to Lettrist and Structuralite films in terms of its form and content; It was while thinking of the Flux Films series initiated by George Maciunas that the original idea for this film came to me. It had to be short, concise and in black and white. I had for some time had a fascination with the figures, the accounts and the texts used for the production of the credits made on ban-titles and which, after several generations take a slight overexposure. The film was set up with the references it actually generated.

Mrs. Hellertz is distraught about her son Aage, who – in spite of a good pay and generous support from home – manages to spend every penny on debauchery in the night life. He indebts himself deeply and falls into the clutches of a malicious loan shark who is out for Mrs. Hellertz's fortune. Bhrantibilas is a 1963 Bengali film based on the 1869 play Bhranti Bilas by Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar, which is itself based on William Shakespeare's The Comedy of Errors. Although the original play was set in an unspecified, but distant past, the film relocates the story to modern day India. The film tells the story of a Bengali merchant from Kolkata and his servant who visit a small town for a business appointment, but, whilst there, are mistaken for a pair of locals, leading to much confusion.
