Telecrime (en)

Telecrime was a British drama series that aired on the BBC Television Service from 1938 to 1939 and in 1946. One of the first multi-episode drama series ever made, it is also one of the first television dramas written especially for television not adapted from theatre or radio. Having first aired for 5 episodes from 1938 to 1939, Telecrime returned in 1946, following the resumption of television after World War II, and aired as Telecrimes. A whodunit crime drama, Telecrime showed the viewer enough evidence to solve the crime themselves. Most episodes were written by Mileson Horton. All 17 episodes are lost. Aired live, their preservation was not technically possible at the time.

The Collector (en)

The Collector, is the first Serbian science fiction television series. The first five episodes were produced and broadcast by Studio B in December 2005, and the other episodes were broadcast during 2006. The Collector is based on a story of Zoran Živković who won the World Fantasy Award. All episodes are directed by Marko Kamenica. The episodes can be watched separately, but together they form a coherent story arc, which is linked together by The Collector, played by Petar Kralj. Aside from The Collector there is another character, a different one every episode, who changes his passion for collecting: memory, hope, autographs of dying people, etc. The series is made using minimal special effects, but in the style of The Twilight Zone.

Playing for Peanuts (en)

Playing for Peanuts is a 10-episode documentary television series about minor league baseball. The ten episode series follows the South Georgia Peanuts of the independent South Coast League during the 2007 season. The series centered on former New York Mets star Wally Backman's managerial comeback, following a 3-day stint as manager of the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2004. Backman had been fired by Arizona after past legal troubles surfaced. Playing for Peanuts premiered on 9 regional sports networks on May 11, 2008. The show was received favorably by baseball fans and the sports media, but it was removed from TV by the producer John J. Fitzgerald after a dispute with SportsNet New York due to the network's refusal to promote the show. Fitzgerald maintained that the network refused to promote the show because it might be seen as an endorsement of Backman to replace New York Mets manager Willie Randolph. SportsNet New York is owned by the Mets parent company Sterling Equities. In November 2009, Backman was hired by the New York Mets to manage their Class A affiliate Brooklyn Cyclones. According to Baseball Digest, Backman had asked Fitzgerald for the cell phone number of Mets COO Jeff Wilpon. After calling Wilpon, Backman reportedly impressed the team during a series of interviews, leading to his hiring.
